Home Screen

Home is where Beanstats opens. It gives you your inventory at a glance, quick actions for the two things you do most, and shelves for your beans and your recent brews.

Greeting

The top of the screen greets you based on the time of day, so you get “Good morning” with your first cup and “Good evening” with your last one.

Summary Tile

A grid of stat cards showing where you stand right now:

CardDescription
RemainingTotal coffee left across your active beans
Last brewHow long ago you last brewed

Two more cards appear when freeze tracking is enabled and you have coffee in the freezer:

CardDescription
In FreezerTotal frozen weight
Oldest freezeHow long your oldest freeze entry has been frozen

And two when caffeine tracking is enabled:

CardDescription
In SystemEstimated caffeine still in your system
TodayCaffeine consumed today, turning red past your daily limit

When you have no beans yet, the tile prompts you to add some. When you have beans but no brews, it invites you to log your first cup.

Quick Actions

Add Bean

Tap Add Bean to open the bean form directly. Long-press (or tap the menu chevron) for the other ways to add a bean:

OptionDescription
Add Bean ManuallyOpen an empty bean form
Import from URLPaste a roaster’s product page and let Beanstats fill in the details
Scan Coffee BagPoint your camera at the bag and extract the details from the label

The button is filled in when you have no active beans, nudging you to start there.

Log Brew

Once you have at least one active bean, a Log Brew button appears next to it and opens the brew form. See Brew Logging for what you can record.

Your Beans

A shelf of the coffees you still have left, freshest roast first, up to ten of them. Beans without a roast date come last, and the shelf is hidden entirely when nothing qualifies.

Each card leads with the bean photo, or a generated pattern when there is no photo, followed by the name, roaster, remaining weight, and a compact roast age such as “Today”, “7d”, or “3w”. Decaf beans carry a badge on the photo.

Recent Brews

A shelf of your eight most recent home brews. Each card shows the bean thumbnail, name, and roaster, then up to six brew figures: dose, water (or espresso yield), ratio, brew time, water temperature, and method. The footer carries the brew date, a taste profile marker, and the rating.

  • Tap a brew to open its details
  • Tap See All to open the full brew list
  • Long-press a brew for the same context menu as the brew list: repeat, rate, compare, and share
The recent brews list respects the date range available to your plan. Free users see the last 30 days of brews here, Premium users see everything.
